The Southman Surge Spring Program offers high-performance training and competitive opportunities for athletes born between 2013 and 2016. Built in partnership with PV Elite Hockey, the program combines structured on-ice skill work, team systems development, strength & conditioning, and mental performance coaching — all done locally in southern Manitoba.
Whether your athlete is preparing for the next level or looking to sharpen their overall game, the Surge provides a well-rounded, high-intensity environment to grow.

On-Ice Development
14 Hours of on ice training with experienced PV Elite coaches. Goalie-specific coaching included.

Player first approach
Team building events and multi-sport components to help build friendships and connections

Competition Opportunity
3 spring tournaments + 2 exhibition games.

Mental Performance Coaching
3 workshops focused on mindset, leadership, and resilience. With our PV Elite Mental Performance Coach, Jack Lotscher.
Program Philosophy
Southman Surge exists to develop athletes the right way — through intention, structure, and mentorship. Backed by PV Elite’s proven development model, we don’t just run skates and call it development. Every rep, session, and conversation is built to prepare athletes for the next level — on the ice and beyond it.
Location
All practices and training will be based out of Winkler, MB, with on-ice sessions supported by PV Elite coaches and staff. Off-ice training will be operated out of our own — Mitch Dyck Performance Centre — located in Winkler, MB. With access to top-tier equipment, a controlled environment, and seamless integration with our on-ice development model, athletes can train year-round without distractions.
